In addition to his work as choral director at Lewis & Clark, Glarum worked at various summer programs through and apart from Lewis & Clark. These programs, some for high school students and others for college credit, provided students with opportunities to study music intensively for a few weeks at a time, learning the nuances of choral singing and musical collaboration. In particular, Glarum also founded the Haystack Choral Conductors Workshop which is still held in Cannon Beach each August. This workshop, which is attended by choral music teachers and college choral directors from around the Pacific Northwest, recently held a concert to honor Glarum.
