Lewis and Clark Expedition books

Numerous books have been written about the Lewis and Clark Expedition. These works include fictitious accounts of the expedition, edited versions of the Corps of Discovery journals, scholarly analyses of the expedition, scientific texts, and children's books.

The Lewis & Clark College Special Collections have an extensive collection of these materials. There are two key ways to access information about books held by Lewis & Clark.

1) All books about the expedition held at Lewis & Clark published before 2002 are listed in the book Literature of the Lewis and Clark Expedition: A Bibliography and Essays (Portland, Or.: Lewis & Clark College, 2003). To locate a copy of the bibliography in the Watzek Library, go to: http://libcat.lclark.edu/record=b1383459~S0

2) All books published up to the present are listed in the Watzek Library online catalog at: http://library.lclark.edu/
